A randomized trial challenges long-standing caffeine restrictions in AF care
The DECAF trial found that AF patients encouraged to drink at least one cup of caffeinated coffee daily after cardioversion had a 39% lower recurrence risk than abstainers. The randomized design strengthens evidence that coffee may be protective rather than harmful.
